As a top interior designer in Deal, NJ and throughout Monmouth Country, our design company will walk you through all phases of the design process seamlessly. With over 15 years of experience working in high-end interior design, on a large range of projects including kitchen and bath design, whole home redesign, or just a refresh - you can be confident that our New Jersey interior design firm will lead you in the right direction from the first call, to the final installation. We tune into our clients needs and wants which is why our initial meetings are so important - to really get to know you and your family, how you want to live, feel, and move around in your space. This might include favorite colors, any patterns or themes you are drawn to, or favorite places you visited or stayed at, that you’d like your home to emanate. This helps us streamline materials and furnishings to present to you, insuring mood boards and presentation materials we show are designs you truly connect with.

Kitchen interior design

We know how important it is for you to get away yet still feel at home. Having designed many vacation and beach homes we see that some of our clients feel they’d like to let loose a bit - even a small departure from their primary residence - whereas others want something completely different. One of our design principles is bringing the inside out, as well as asking, “what does this home want” so that the design is cohesive throughout as well as with the home itself and surroundings. We achieve this by using a handful of design elements that are a nod to when the home was built. While we dont need to redesign a home that’s say, classical, using all traditional furniture items, we can marry your style with a few pieces that ground the space and pull it all together, modern pieces with classical elements. You can find examples of this in many of our Deal, NJ interior design projects below:

Why hire our Deal, NJ interior design company - Q & A WITH SED:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Why should you hire an interior designer?

To avoid common mistakes including inaccurate measurements that can lead to things not fitting and pricey mistakes. Indecision is another big one - decision fatigue, with endless options online it can be paralyzing and a designer can narrow options down - as well as show items that you wont find online, with our hundreds of trade vendors.

What does your design process look like:

We want to be as transparent as possible, explaining as much as possible to eliminate any surprises, so created a page on how we work that you can find here.

How much does interior design cost?

We have always charged hourly and found that the most effective, whereas we send a monthly bill with a breakdown of what we worked on during each time we billed, for example: “2 hours shopping at the design centers for dining tables and chairs.” We have found clients appreciate the structure and transparency this type of billing provides.

Will the design reflect my personal taste and preferences?

Of course, I often say, How my clients live from day to day, how they dress, and their backgrounds, are huge clues on how to design their spaces. It’s all there if you listen and observe… I am here to help you enhance your home’s design and make it feel distinctly like you.

How do you set a project budget?

The budget is where the realistic picture of your project begins, and we wont start a project without one. We will walk you through the process of estimating your desired scope of work based on our extensive experience with hundreds of design projects done. We guide you through this process every step of the way sharing what each item costs, as well as where to spend and where to save. A good rule of thumb is to budget up to 35% of the value of the finished home for interior design services, project management and furnishings.

How long does a room usually take?

If we are designing a room from the ground up - meaning a rug or flooring, furniture, lighting, wall treatments and/or paint colors 20 hours is a good number to start with. If we are doing a lot of custom furniture items or custom designs, or millwork (custom bookcases, built-ins or cabinetry) then you can expect more hours.
