Our Fall Interior design Color Palette:
Smoky blues, mossy to muted greens, and burnt orange is the palette we are dreaming up this autumn. An offbeat path from trends, these colors can energize a home while still giving a nod to the season change, calling for more warmth, shots of color to counter the shorter days, while always bringing the outside in with touches of leaves and florals.
The Perfect End of Summer Dress, Sweater & Boots Pairing:
I often get questions about the dresses I wear to meetings. As a busy business owner and mom, dresses are my go-to as it means making just 1 decision, not 2, and they can be worn day to night seamlessly, or office to kitchen in many cases… A few favorite brands shown here, and below! Dresses easily take you into fall with simple opaque tights, boots and a soft sweater.
Object Highlight:
The future is vintage, and mixing antiques with new pieces in any room is what brings warmth and richness to a home. From glass and ceramics (our very favorite objects to collect) to interesting objects found or passed down to you, placing them on bookcases, coffee tables and around the home does wonders, and can update the look instantly. An Artist We Love: Catherine Howe
You know we love florals here at SED and Catherine’s work embodies them, both in the final works of art we see, but also in dried flowers she uses as part of her creative process! Her newer works using metallics are nothing short of a dream. I had the pleasure of seeing the show in person this past winter in New York and havent been able to get them out of my head.
