Falling for Winter - 5 Things We Love this Season
Sarah Elizabeth
Fall Outfit Obsessions:
Adding a little drama to your wardrobe never hurt, and can up your mood big time during the darker months of winter✨ Think of incorporating animal prints (surprise, they're back!), embellished or sequin-embroidered pieces, and faux fur - all which can easily go from day to night. Also cashmere is always a good idea, as we have a natural yearning to have soft, natural materials around us (esp. in the winter), while it can still make us feel a bit dressed up. If a little shimmer makes you happy & brings your spirits up during the colder months, then why not? A few favorite brands shown here, and below!
Books we are loving right now:
A current passion is collecting vintage books and using them to style coffee tables, bookcases and even drink stands. You can easily find them online or in the wild. If you are short on time, try online antique sites like ThriftBooks.com, eBay, etc but my favorite is taking a quiet moment to wind my way through Montclair Book Center right here in town - always leaving with a wonderful book (or 5) both new and used.
If you are going to buy just one new coffee table book this year, it should be AD at Home. This book pulls together some of the most celebrated interiors published in the magazine over the years, and has such a wonderfully diverse range of design styles. The book cover itself is also lovely, in a complimentary pink and red color scheme - perfect to brighten up your coffee table this winter.
Restaurant Highlight: La Rocca
Just around the corner from our studio, La Rocca has all the things we look for and love about a restaurant. Tucked away 1 block off the main shopping/dining strip that is Bloomfield Ave, La Rocca offers handmade pastas in a thoughtfully designed yet understated, intimate space. Whether meeting a friend or celebrating a special occasion, it seems to fit any bill and you might just run into a friend or two in this neighborhood fave.
